Development of a self-stabilized 3-axis platform using Ansys SCADE

One of the most important components of modern observation and tracking systems is the stabilization platform, which ensures the constant position of the line of sight. It is mostly composed of 3 axes of rotation: the axis of roll, pitch and gyration. There are a lot of applications for these systems, such as in defense, aerial photography, satellite imagery, industria lmeasurement, etc. In the surveillance system, any desired object can be placed on the stabilized platform and maintained at a fixed reference level, even with changes in the dynamics of the entire system. This paper presents a low-cost constructive variant of such a stabilization system, the stabilization algorithm being realized with the help of the Ansys SCADE tool This program was chosen because it presents several advantages, such as advanced model-based design and automatic code generation. The proposed stabilization platform is composed of 3 servomechanisms for the 3rotation axes (roll, pitch and yaw), connected to a development board (Arduino MEGA2560). Information about platform position changes is recorded using a motion sensor (MPU-9250), fixed to the surface of the platform, parallel to it. The stabilization algorithm is developed using the Ansys SCADE Suite, the generated code being loaded on the development board through the Arduino IDE program. The system was tested and demonstrated, ensuring the continuous balancing of the system.
