Numerical simulation and optimal design of heat dissipation of rectangular energy storage group of high discharge rate lithium-ion battery

Container energy storage is one of the key parts of the new power system. In this paper, multiple high rate discharge lithium-ion batteries are applied to the rectangular battery pack of container energy storage and the heat dissipation performance of the battery pack is studied numerically. The effects of inlet deflector height, top deflector height, cell spacing and thickness of thermal silica gel on the performance of air cooling were studied. The results show that the heat dissipation performance is the best when the inlet deflector height is the same as the battery height. The height of the top deflector is proportional to the maximum temperature and inversely proportional to the temperature difference. The battery spacing and temperature difference show a quadratic curve, and the heat dissipation performance is best at the valley point. Thermal conductive silicone can significantly reduce the maximum temperature, but excessive thickness can lead to an increase in temperature difference.
