Flatness Measurement of Steel Strip Using Three Laser Stripes

In recent years, with the rapid development of machine vision technology, flatness measurement devices based on line-structured light have been gradually applied to strip steel production lines. However, in the complex and harsh environments of industrial sites, the vibration and rotation of the strip can impact the results of flatness measurement, leading to measurement errors. This paper proposes a flatness measurement device based on triple-line light sources to address this challenge. The device uses an industrial camera to capture the projection of three lasers on the surface of the strip. By repeatedly collecting data from the same position on the steel strip, it achieves high-precision measurement of strip flatness. We designed simulated experiments. The results indicate that the proposed method effectively eliminates measurement errors caused by steel strip vibration and rotation, thereby improving flatness measurement accuracy. This approach has certain reference value for the improvement of flatness measurement technology in industrial environments.
