Development of Non-Immersive Virtual Reality for Rock Outcrops Learning

This study aims to develop a web-based, non-immersive Virtual Reality (VR) for rock outcrop learning. This VR application helps users learn about outcrops located in hard-to-reach areas. The application is also useful for students who have difficulty visiting the outcrop area due to budget and distance factors. The outcrop is in the Karangsambung area, Kebumen, Central Java. The image capture uses a drone equipped with a 360 camera. The study uses 6 stages of the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method: concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. The website is equipped with information in the form of messages and videos explaining the rock outcrop. This VR application is expected to be an effective medium for college students.
