Abstract:

In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has rapidly become indispensable in our day-to-day activities. It has emerged as a leading technology around the world. The impact of IoT communication technology on our daily lives in the future is expected to be tremendous. IoT, however, has numerous security and privacy concerns. To gain trust of majority of users using IoT based applications IoT devices should provide data confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and access control. This makes the necessary adjustments to the current architecture imperative. As a result, we thoroughly reviewed the main security concerns with IoT applications and architecture in this paper. Further it covers the countermeasures along with upcoming solutions. Furthermore, it explores the three-tier structure of IoT framework, specifically the Perception, Network, and Application tiers, while showcasing various real-world applications of IoT.
