Hybrid Cryptography Algorithms for Cloud Data Security

In today’s digital time, assuring the security and confidentiality of data transmitted over the cloud is of paramount importance. This project proposes a hybrid cryptography algorithm designed to enhance cloud security by integrating asymmetric and symmetric encryption techniques. Specifically, the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm is utilized at the sender’s end to encrypt data, while Elliptic Curve Cryptography is employed at the receiver’s end for key encryption and decryption.At the sender’s side, data is encrypted using AES, a widely adopted symmetric encryption algorithm known for its efficiency and robustness. However, to assure the confidentiality and integrity of the AES key during transmission over the cloud, an additional layer of security is introduced. The AES private key is encrypted using the Elliptic Curve Cryptography public key before being transmitted. This hybrid approach not only protects the AES key from unauthorized access but also facilitates secure key exchange between the sender and receiver. At the receiver’s side, the Elliptic Curve Cryptography private key is used to decrypt the encrypted AES key, thus enabling access to the encrypted data. By leveraging the capabilities of Elliptic Curve Cryptography, the project achieves scalability and maintains the availability of data transmission over the cloud.By adopting this hybrid cryptography algorithm, the project upholds the principles of the CIA triad-Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability-ensuring that sensitive data remains confidential, unaltered, and accessible only to authorized parties. Through rigorous testing and evaluation, this project demonstrates the efficacy and reliability of hybrid cryptography in bolstering cloud security, thereby addressing the growing challenges of data protection in the digital time.
