A Comparative Analysis for Optimal Project Completion Utilizing Critical Path Method and Precedence Diagram Method for Efficient Solar Power Plant Installation

This project explores the utilization of Critical Path Method (CPM) and Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) in orchestrating and executing a solar power plant installation endeavor within the domain of Operation Research. The focus is on the application of these project management methodologies to optimize the scheduling, resource allocation, and overall execution of the installation process. CPM is employed to identify the sequence of critical activities that directly impact the project timeline, highlighting the tasks that cannot be delayed without affecting the project’s completion date. On the other hand, PDM is used to establish the relationships between activities, defining various dependency types such as finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish, and start-to-finish. By meticulously mapping out the project activities and their dependencies, the study aims to construct comprehensive network diagrams for both CPM and PDM. These diagrams serve as tools for calculating the earliest and latest start and finish times for each activity, thereby identifying the critical path and potential slack times.
