Robust DOA Estimation Method for Acoustic Vector Sensor Array Based on Element-Space Combination

The performance of the DOA estimation of standard Capon beamforming in an acoustic vector sensor array decreases sharply under the condition of steering vector mismatch. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a robust beamforming algorithm based on the element-space combined processing of an acoustic vector array. The proposed algorithm extracts the beam transformation matrix of the traditional combined processing covariance matrix to the element-space and reconstructs the covariance matrix through singular value decomposition. Next, the singular value and vector complete the DOA estimation based on robust Capon beamforming. The simulation results show that the proposed method solves the spatial filtering problem of the traditional combined processing of acoustic pressure and particle velocity and has good spatial spectrum and target resolution abilities under the amplitude-phase error condition.
