A Conservative Unified Virtual Impedance Setting Method for Grid-Forming Converters

In order to prevent equipment damage caused by overcurrent in the inverter, it is usually necessary to take measures to limit the current of the inverter. In order to simplify the control complexity of the virtual impedance-based current limiting control strategy, this paper proposes an open-loop voltage control strategy for grid-forming inverters based on virtual synchronous generator. In addition, based on the proposed control strategy, this paper presents a fixed virtual impedance setting method, which achieves effective limitation of fault current under any fault depth. Ultimately, the experimental outcomes affirm the accuracy and utility of the theoretical framework.
