Internet of Things - Enabled Solution for Sustainable Agricultural Waste Management

As open field burning of agricultural and environmental residues result in severe atmospheric degradation. This research presents an IoT-based monitoring system integrated with a pyrolyser to address this issue. The primary objective of this research work is to implement a sensor-driven door opening mechanism using embedded devices, including a temperature sensor, servo motor, Arduino Uno, RFID reader, liquid crystal display, and lightemitting diodes. The system utilizes a contactless infrared digital temperature sensor to monitor the internal temperature of the pyrolyser. When the temperature reaches the set point of $450^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$, an output signal triggers the Arduino and a direct current motor, unlocking the door. By integrating these electronics, the prototype achieves efficient monitoring and control, contributing to sustainable waste management practices. This IoT-enabled pyrolyser offers a promising solution for reducing open field burning and mitigating its harmful environmental effects.
