An Active Disturbance Rejection Control Strategy For Direct-Drive Wave Energy Converters

In this paper, a proposal is made for the adaptation of a linear active disturbance rejection controller for a direct drive wave energy converter. The application of a direct drive wave energy converter (DDWEC) presents a simpler and efficient system as compared to the traditional wave energy converters. In order to suppress different disturbances and guarantee the current loop's steady state and dynamic performance, an active disturbance rejection controller is also integrated into it. By achieving this, an accurate current control and robust permanent magnet linear generator control are achieved.
