Model Predictive Control Study of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Cogeneration System Coupled with Electricity, Gas and Hydrogen

Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) combined heat and power (CHP) systems offer the advantages of high efficiency, non-pollution, and good adaptability to a wide range of fuels, and thus can utilize hydrogen separated from a pipeline hydrogen-doped gas mixture as a fuel. However, the system is highly coupled, has many variables and is complex, and is prone to output fluctuations due to input variations. In order to ensure the stability of the cogeneration output of the SOFC cogeneration system and supply high-quality energy, a model predictive control method for this system is now proposed. Simulation results show that the control method exhibits excellent control effects under voltage perturbation and multiple setpoint perturbation.
