Elevating BLDC Motor Performance with Precision PID Controller Tuning

This proposal introduces a PID controller designed for the speed regulation of BLDC motors in EV systems. The study begins with a comprehensive exploration of BLDC motor characteristics, emphasizing the critical role of accurate speed control in optimizing vehicle performance, energy efficiency, and safety. The core focus lies on the PID controller, renowned for its simplicity and effectiveness in motor speed regulation. The design involves tuning P-I-D gains, with various tuning methods and metaheuristic techniques considering factors such as motor dynamics and system stability. MATLAB simulations validate the PID controller, demonstrating its capacity for accurate and stable speed control across diverse operating conditions. The controller's effectiveness is further confirmed by showcasing its adaptability to step changes, load disturbances, and varying environmental conditions.
