Investigation of Right Half Plane Zero in Voltage Regulated Non-Ideal Boost Converter

The reduction in the effect of Right Half Plane Zero of a voltage regulated Boost converter considering lossy input inductor and lossy output capacitor is investigated in this paper. The control to output transfer function is derived for three cases for each non-ideality and a compensator is selected. The shift of RHP zero locations and stability margins are thoroughly investigated with the help of Bode plots and results are presented. Based on the investigation, conclusions are drawn to improve the closed loop performance of the Boost converter modifying the control loop design without any additional circuitry.
