Design and Implementation of Solar Based Off Grid Charging Station

The OGCS proposed in the paper has solar energy as the primary source and a backup battery for storage system. An Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) boosts the voltage obtained from the Panel to maintain voltage at the DC bus bar. A buck converter steps down the voltage from the DC bus bar to meet the requirements of various EV batteries. In the event of a solar panel failing to meet the demand due to external conditions, the system uses a backup energy storage system that utilizes a bidirectional buck boost converter (BDC) for charging and discharging process associated. The system parameters have been designed to meet the requirements of two EV-four wheelers. The PV input conditions are adjusted and examined for all parameter variations. In addition, converter efficiency calculation for various stages of power conversion is also conducted. The MATLAB simulations results are produced to show the effectiveness of OGCS.
