Analysis of Improved Ladle Furnace's Electrical Modes Automatic Control System in the Conditions of Real Production

The article considers the optimisation problem of electrical modes of two-stage ladle-furnace units and suggests the ways of their solution on the basis of improved control systems. The structure of facilities and electrical mode control systems functioning on them are analysed on the example of the units operated in electric steelmaking shops of domestic ferrous metallurgy enterprises. The automatic control algorithms of electrical modes for twin LFs are developed with full adaptation to each position. Two variants of the algorithms are presented: with and without adaptation to the emergency lance blowdown modes. The effectiveness of the developed solutions is demonstrated on the example of two units with identical technical characteristics. The operating principles of the algorithms are illustrated by oscillograms obtained from the operating units, where the experimental operation was carried out. The work results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed solutions, as well as their adaptation possibility for similar units.
