Improving the Efficiency of Heat Supply Systems in Small and Medium-Sized Cities

The main problems of district heat supply systems in small and medium-sized cities are the low efficiency of thermal energy production and the high percentage of wear and tear of heating networks. The sources of thermal energy in these systems are heating and industrial heating boiler houses. The latter, due to technological features, have a low fuel efficiency, but in many cities with a population of up to 100,000 they predominate. Using the example of the work settlement of Linevo, the possibility of solving existing problems is shown: the possibility of building a cogeneration source of thermal energy based on gas piston units. This will reduce the specific fuel consumption for energy production. Reducing the cost of energy production will increase funding for the modernization of heating networks, which will lead to increased reliability of heat supply.
