Design of Proficient Fused MAC Unit for PID Controllers

The implementation of PID controllers in ASICs demands a strong grasp of system and hardware design. Despite the straightforward control structure and efficiency of industrial components regulated by PID controllers, they still incur significant power consumption. These control systems incorporate VLSI components like adders, multipliers, and accumulators to operate effectively. In this study, the integration of a fused MAC (Multiply-Accumulate) unit is employed for designing PID controllers, aiming to enhance efficiency across power consumption, path delay, and the utilization of LUTs.
