Enhancing Experiences in Tourism: Exploring the Various Dimensions of Augmented Reality (AR) in Tourism

Augmented reality (AR) has been a transforming technology with the concept of changing the travelling experience through its various applications. Tourism industry is popular for its various innovative ideas which help to attract the travellers. This paper deals with the various dimensions of implementing AR technology in the field of tourism industry can be one of the key technologies to allure the travellers through integration of AR in different historical sites and various other tourist destinations. Augmented Reality (AR) apps results in experiencing different places in an interesting manner with the help of digital information including the Navigation System for following the correct route and E-Tracer application for detecting artefacts. However, challenges remain same regarding technical restriction, costs, server issue and privacy for a tourist. AR has shaped the tourism sector in a more significant manner with its ability of serving as a bridge between virtual and real world. This research focuses on the growing significance of the AR in the field of tourism by offering immersive and interactive characteristics to travel in a more convenient manner.
