Design Features of a Portable Microwave Sterilizer for Wide Application

The task of sterilizing instruments for various purposes (surgical, dental, cosmetology) is relevant due to their widespread use. Most sterilization methods take a long time (more than 1 hour) and are performed in large-sized installations.Sterilization devices that are currently used have large dimensions and complex technology for preparing instruments for the processing process. They are based on thermal principles, as a result of which the processing time in them is more than an hour. Their large size and weight do not allow them to be used as mobile sterilization units. The great advantage of the proposed sterilization method is the simplicity of the instrument processing process; it does not require additional preparation or consumables. Instruments are ready for use immediately after removing them from the sterilizer. These facts show the prospect of using a microwave sterilizer not only in hospitals, but also in mobile medical care units. This paper presents design documentation for a portable microwave sterilizer with a processing time of 10 minutes.The work provides design drawings of the sterilizer resonator chamber, an electrical circuit and a list of electronic components of the control and heating system for the microwave sterilizer.
