Towards a Perfect Reconstruction Theory

This paper presents some preliminary considerations on the general problems of missing/complementary information and perfect reconstruction, with the hope to attract the attention of the signal processing researchers that the rigorous derivation of a general theory of reconstruction should be desirable and possible.
