Bug Testing Automation with Playwright and a Backend API

Bug tracking systems (BTS) are critical to software development because they provide a disciplined approach to discovering, documenting, prioritizing, and resolving software issues, which are often known as bugs. As online applications get more complicated, the need for reliable bug testing solutions grows. This research study presents a theoretical architecture for creating a bug testing automation platform that combines Playwright in UI mode with a backend API for automated testing and reporting. The proposed platform takes advantage of Playwright's ability to interact with web browsers in UI mode, allowing for extensive testing of web apps in a variety of situations and circumstances. Playwright allows testers to imitate user interactions, traverse web sites, and assess app usage in a controlled testing environment. Furthermore, this platform is intended to be used as a cloud-based bug tracking system, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and ease of maintenance. By integrating Playwright's UI testing capabilities with a robust backend API, this platform promises to improve the overall quality of web applications hosted in cloud settings.
