Stable Detection of Ionized Air by a Highly Excited Raman Silicon Nanocavity Laser

We demonstrate the detection of ionized air molecules by a CMOS-fabricated Raman silicon nanocavity laser. The response of the Raman laser emission to negatively ionized air is investigated while changing the excitation power for the Raman laser. It is found that the stability of the detection improves at high excitation powers.
