Measurement of Longitudinal Strain Impact on the Signal Group Velocity in PM Fiber

The polarization of light can serve as the fundamen-tal concept for fiber optic sensors. In our earlier publications, we discussed the examination of the correlation between the signal differential group delay in the slow and fast axes of a birefringent optical fiber and the longitudinal tension. We encountered some surprising findings, which we aim to investigate and clarify in this paper.
