Fast and Efficient Wavefront Estimation Algorithm Using Slope Values in Zonal Wavefront Sensor

This paper introduces an approach for zonal wave-front reconstruction based on slope values while improving the wavefront reconstruction time. Wavefront reconstruction from slope values measurement is essential for obtaining accurate and detailed information on a propagating wave. However, Wavefront reconstruction algorithms have several applications in various fields, particularly optics and imaging systems, to restore or analyze wavefront information from the experimental data. This paper investigates the accuracy of the estimated phases at the peripheral grid points where slope information is unavailable, and it improves the computational elapsed time from 0.118 s to 0.101 s. The proposed method involves adapting the Southwell geometry, and the evaluation of wavefront reconstruction performance is conducted by measuring the mean squared error between the applied and reconstructed wavefront.
