Quantitative Analysis of Recurrent Plots for Assessing the State of Dynamic Systems

The recurrence plots and their quantitative analysis are effectively used to assess the state of dynamic systems as they can describe non-linear and non-stationary processes characteristic of such systems. As an example, the processing of a signal from a system with stochastic influence, which well reflects changes in the state of a dynamic system, is presented. The analysis of time series of the studied signal, which is the input array of data for the construction of recurrent plots, was carried out. The purpose of the work is to combine the visual interpretation of the recurrent plot with the calculation of its quantitative measures to confirm the conclusion regarding the stability of the system’s functioning.
