Enhance Robustness Performance of Resonator Fiber Optical Gyroscope System Using Internal Model Control

The resonated frequency-locking of the resonator optical gyroscope system is vital for high dynamic performance. To enhance the robustness of the system, this article first proposes the parameter identification method of the resonator optical gyroscope system to specify the characteristics of the frequency-locking actuators. Correspondingly, a combination locking scheme is optimized to compensate for the long-term frequency drift. Then, the internal mode control method is first introduced to achieve robustness with the results of system parameter identification and the optimized combination control scheme. The experimental results demonstrate that the designed control method contributes to stabilized frequency-locking with different frequency disturbances and long-term frequency-locking. The detailed system parameters are successfully identified within the frequency-sweeping process. The effectiveness of the modified control scheme and the undistorted frequency response 1 kHz with 50% model parameter mismatch are verified by the practical experiment.
