Modeling and Analysis of Time Dependent Petri Nets

In this work, different from existing formalisms, we propose a dual-time Petri net model which integrates timed places and timed transitions, providing a detailed approach to system modeling. Specifically, temporal attributes associated with places indicate resource availability, while those associated with transitions signify event feasibility, thus enabling a precise characterization of system behaviors. To comprehensively explore the system’s state space, we present an extended state class graph, facilitating a thorough representation of system dynamics. Through an example, we demonstrate the applicability of the dual-time Petri net in a real-world scenario.
