An Improved BERT Model for Precise Job Title Classification Using Job Descriptions

In the rapidly evolving job market, accurately classifying job titles based on their descriptions is a critical task for human resources departments. Recruiters frequently encounter difficulties in assigning suitable job titles to announcements, despite their cognizance of technical requirements. This is essential for attracting the most qualified candidates. This research introduces a more effective method for addressing this issue by utilizing an enhanced BERT-based (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) model for the multi-label classification of job titles. The proposed model was trained and evaluated on a comprehensive dataset that was compiled from numerous open-source repositories, containing 12,047 instances. It achieved a notable performance with an accuracy of 0.842. The results of this study illustrate the enhanced model's ability to accurately classify job titles, thereby providing a reliable solution for expediting recruitment processes. In addition to advancing the state-of-the-art in job title classification, this study offers valuable insights into the implementation of deep learning models for complex multi-class classification tasks.
