The Fire and Gas Control System of a Floating Gas Power Plant

With the increasing demand for electricity in economic development and the emphasis on clean energy under the background of “double carbon”, Natural Gas (NG), as a lowcarbon fossil fuel, occupies an important position in the transitional period of the third global energy transition. Floating Gas Power Plant (FGPP) is a new type of power generation unit fueled by NG with characteristics of short construction period, high flexibility, and far away from residential areas, which is a good alternative to the traditional land-based NG power plant. In this paper, a fire and gas control system (F&GCS) is designed to ensure the fire and gas safety of FGPP. And the description, scope, characteristics, constitute parts of this F&GCS are detail described, as well as input devices and voting logic architectures. A case study of a new-built FGPP is presented, hope to provide a thought for the design of F&GCS for the similar type of floating plant.
