UWB Slot Bow-tie Antenna for FMCW GPR Applications

This paper describes the design of an ultrawideband (UWB) slot bow-tie antenna, for use in a Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) application. The antenna has a reflection bandwidth from 0.5 GHz to 3 GHz. Two corners of the bow-tie have been blended and the antenna is bent to obtain a unidirectional radiation pattern throughout the frequency range. Isolation of more than 30 dB is achieved between antennas in close proximity.
