Investigating the Mediation Effect of Environmental Protective Behaviors on Urban Air Quality Enhancement

This research advances our understanding of the complex relationship between environmental awareness, climate change recognition, protective behavior, and urban Environmental Quality (EQ). This study underscores the importance of environmental conservation by demonstrating the positive effects of climate-friendly and pro-environmental actions on improving EQ. These findings emphasize the need for educational institutions to play an essential role in fostering students’ environmental understanding and responsible practice, contributing to a sustainable future. Addressing the urgent problem of deteriorating urban EQ, this study offers a solution by promoting climate-friendly and pro-environmental behavior. By establishing the mediating role of protective action, this research uncovers new pathways for policymakers, educators, and urban planners to improve EQ. Innovative use of stratified sampling and advanced statistical modeling techniques ensures robust results. This research captures an important demographic ready to lead environmental initiatives by focusing on graduate students. Identifying pro-environmental behavior as a driver of EQ improvement significantly contributes to the field. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of protective behavior in fostering a sustainable urban environment.
