Mechanical Modelling of Electric-Machine Core Laminated Stack

A modelling strategy has been defined to predict the mechanical behaviour of a core laminated stack during the assembly phase of a rotor or a stator and its life cycle. First, the contact between two laminates or sheets is defined. Then, a scale transition procedure is introduced to simplify the behaviour of two sheets in contact, based on an energy equivalence. This method has been applied to an elastic behaviour. The results show a good approximation between full and approximated models.
