Analysis of the Incoherent Scattering Spectra of Magnetized Plasma in the Middle and Low Latitude Ionosphere

Incoherent scattering technique is an important means of detecting ionospheric plasma parameters. Based on Sheffield’s incoherent scattering theory, this paper analyzed the incoherent scattering spectra of ionospheric plasmas at middle and low latitudes. We first give the incoherent scattering properties of plane waves in the magnetized ionospheric plasma. Then we study the spectral line characteristics of the actual ionospheric parameters in different latitude and longitude regions based on the actual ionospheric parameters. The higher the latitude, the higher the magnetic field intensity and the electron density. At the same latitude, the electron temperature, ion temperature and the electron density are proportional to the height, and the magnetic field intensity is inversely proportional to the ionosphere height. For the ion line spectra, different latitude has little effect on the line. In general, the peak value of the spectral lines increases slightly with the increase of latitude. For the plasma line spectra, the higher the latitude, the peak value of the spectral line moves to the right, and the peak value in the F-layer increases obviously. The work in this paper lays a foundation for further study of the incoherent scattering characteristics of plasma, and is helpful to promote the development of the plasma diagnosis.
