Marching-on-in-Time Analysis of Electromagnetic Scattering of Uniformly Moving Objects

In this article, we propose a numerical method for calculating the electromagnetic scattering fields of an arbitrarily shaped perfectly electrical conducting (PEC) target in uniform motion. The current variation during the movement is analyzed in the laboratory frame where the observer remains stationary. An additional layer of current is introduced to describe the current caused by the moving of the surface charges on the object. The marching-on-in-time (MOT) method is used to obtain the scattering fields in time-domain. The numerical results of a PEC sphere in uniform motion are presented and compared with the results of using the Lorentz-Mie method, which verify the feasibility of the method.
