Application of Static Surface Current Modes in Electromagnetic Scattering Problems

The application of static surface current modes in analyzing electromagnetic scatterings from perfect electrically conducting (PEC) targets is presented in this paper. Static surface current modes are able to solve the low-frequency collapse problem. In addition, static surface current modes are independent of the frequency and the material properties of the target, so static surface current modes can be flexibly used for the analysis of electromagnetic targets of the same shape and can effectively reduce the amount of computation. The numerical results verify the properties of static surface current modes as a basis function.
