PCM Pulse Code Modulation Model Construction and Performance Simulation Analysis

With the rapid development of digital communication technology, pulse code modulation (PCM), as a basic digital signal processing technology, has been widely used in the fields of speech, image and data transmission. This paper first studied the basic principle and key technology of PCM, then elaborated the construction method of PCM model, and finally built a simulation model of PCM pulse code modulation by using MATLAB/Simulink simulation software. Simulink simulation showed that the simulation design of PCM pulse code modulation could be well realized. The PCM coding process, PCM decoding process, PCM quantization coding accuracy and PCM serial transmission system are simulated and analyzed, and the sound quality of PCM serial transmission system is tested. The test results show that the established PCM pulse code modulation system is correct in test results, and the accuracy of PCM quantization coding is relatively accurate. The sound quality of PCM serial transmission system is related to the bit error rate of channel transmission, and the bit error rate is above 0.0001, basically no noise, and relatively clear sound can be heard.
