IoT-based Growth Monitoring System for Stunting Detection in Children aged 2–5 Years

Reducing stunting cases in children under five is one of the priority issues on the healthcare agenda that needs to be resolved by the Indonesian government. This research focuses on developing an e-Growth Chart Monitoring System (e-GCMS) to measure children's height & weight, which also displays the child's growth and development status, specifically stunting. Implementing this system is part of an effort to assist Posyandu (Integrated Health Service Posts in Indonesia) in dealing with problems related to managing stunting data. The implementation of the e-GCMS has been developed by utilizing Time-of-Flight proximity sensors and load cells with an accuracy of 99.94% and 99.95%, respectively. This e-GCMS device has demonstrated automatic measurement performance with just one process. It provides classification information on children's height and weight measurements based on gender and age, which can be accessed via the Android mobile application and website. The device has been tested and used in several Posyandu in Bandung Regency, West Java province, Indonesia.
