Application of Frequency-Wavelet Domain Deconvolution to In Vivo THz Skin Measurements

Terahertz (THz) sensing is becoming an increasingly popular field in biomedical research, in particular for in vivo studies of dermatological conditions including basal cell carcinoma (BCC), atopic eczema and psoriasis. This study demonstrates the ability of THz sensing to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy skin, and employs frequency-wavelet domain deconvolution (FWDD) to calculate the time-domain impulse function of psoriatic and healthy skin. It also details the use of THz sensing to investigate the effects of moisturiser application on psoriasis.
