Automatic Coal Feeding Control System Based on STM32

The automated control of coal addition is a crucial process in modern industrial coal-fired power plants. This paper presents a system for automated coal addition control to ensure unmanned and regulated coal addition, thus preventing the coal bunker from being underfilled or overfilled. The system utilizes an STM32 microcontroller as the main control chip and a novel millimeter-wave radar to monitor the coal level in the bunker in real time, activating or deactivating the coal conveyor belt accordingly. Additionally, it incorporates alarm devices to alert operators in situations of underfilling or overfilling. A USART serial port screen is integrated into the system for human-machine interaction. In terms of coal level monitoring, a Digital Signal algorithm is used to calculate the coal level inside the bunker, displaying it as a percentage on the serial port screen. Through testing, the system has demonstrated the expected performance in terms of measurement accuracy, control effectiveness, and human-machine interaction.
