Discussion on Mutual Coupling Phase-Locking Magnetrons

This conference paper initiates a preliminary discussion on the mutual coupling phase-locking applied in magnetron arrays. Initially, we employed 4 and 8 magnetrons to investigate the feasibility of mutual coupling phase-locking technology in magnetron arrays. Additionally, we conducted research and analysis on the impact of the non-uniform emission capacity of magnetron cathodes on system performance. Simulation results indicate that the mutual coupling phase-locking scheme can be applied to multiple magnetron arrays, maintaining a consistently high phase-locking efficiency. Furthermore, the coherent synthesis efficiency of the arrays remains unaffected by differences in cathode emission capacity. The above work preliminarily demonstrates that mutual coupling phase-locking technology could be applied to achieve large-scale magnetron arrays for high-power applications.
