Decision Analysis of Power Generation and Consumption for Enterprises with Self-owned Power Plants Considering Demand Response

Self-owned power plants (SPP) with large installed capacities and high generation volumes, along with extremely high unit utilization rates, are significant resources within the power system. Effective management and utilization of these enterprises can yield substantial economic benefits and enhance the stability of grid operations. In recent years, the development of resource-integrated self-owned power plants has received strong policy support. Therefore, this paper selects steel enterprises, which are typical representatives of high energy-consuming industries, as the research subject to study their power generation and consumption characteristics and optimize operational decisions. Firstly, a price-based demand response model is established based on a price elasticity matrix. Secondly, modeling of various power generation equipment within the enterprise is conducted based on the steel production process, and an optimization model with the objective of minimizing total electricity costs is developed. This model achieves comprehensive optimal operation of the enterprise before and after demand response implementation. Finally, simulations verify the feasibility of the model, providing theoretical support for self-owned power plants to participate in price-based demand response.
