Improving accuracy in automated modeling of instrumentation and control design files

The design verification platform functions as a comprehensive tool for design and verification, offering robust validation capabilities for nuclear power plant designs. Before verifying the instrumentation and control (I&C) logic design, it is necessary to convert the I&C design diagrams into XML files. These XML files are subsequently imported into the design verification platform for automated modeling. However, this process can lead to deviations because the XML files may not fully capture all the information from the original diagrams. This paper addresses this issue by developing a lightweight conversion and comparison software that converts the XML format I&C design files into HTML files. The software automatically compares these HTML files with the I&C design diagrams and prompts designers to modify the diagrams as needed, ensuring that the XML files accurately and comprehensively reflect the diagram information. This approach improves the accuracy of automated modeling for simulations by ensuring the integrity of I&C XML files when importing them into the simulation verification platform.
