Low Power VLSI Architecture for Variable Gain Amplifier Using Pseudo Current Steering Gain Tuning Method

This project introduces four variable-gain amplifiers (VGAs) that utilize a novel pseudo-current-steering gain-tuning technique. In the VGA1, a standalone gain control block is implemented using a single-voltage-controlled dual- branch Current copying circuit. The VGA2 integrates two NMOS transistors biased by a variable voltage into a conventional common-source amplifier to divert a portion of the entire current. The third and fourth VGA's are similar to VGA 1 and VGA 2. In third and fourth architectures namely Design-I and Design-II we aim to expand the concept by implementing the Power gating technique to reduce power consumption. Low-power techniques refer to strategies employed in electronic design to mitigate the power consumption of integrated circuits (ICs) and electronic systems.
