Optimal layout design for photovoltaic shadow occlusion based on Sketchup and PVsyst

As photovoltaic (PV) systems gain global popularity, effectively minimizing the impact of shading on PV system performance has become a significant design challenge. This paper introduces a systematic and comprehensive shading analysis method that integrates SketchUp and PVsyst software; by utilizing SketchUp for customized 3D modeling and high-precision shading analysis, this method can effectively identify and address shading issues that are difficult to detect using traditional methods, thereby optimizing module layout and enhancing overall system performance. Subsequently, PVsyst is used to simulate and evaluate system efficiency and losses under different conditions. The aim is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of PV system design and to provide a new approach to optimizing photovoltaic system design by combining 3D modeling with performance simulation.
