Effectiveness of Autogenic Training on Anxiety of the Mothers with Autistic Children in Selected Hospital

This paper aims to evaluate the efficiency of autogenic training on anxiety of the mothers with autistic children the study employed a non-probability convenient sampling technique and a quasi-experimental pretest and post-test research design. A quantitative research method was adopted to achieve the study’s objectives. The dependent variable in this study is the anxiety experienced by mothers of autistic children, while the self-governing variable is the application of Autogenic Training. The study was conducted at the Child Developmental Centre in Saveetha Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), Thandalam, Chennai. The accessible population for the training encompassed all mothers of autistic children at the Child Developmental Centre in SMCH, Thandalam, Chennai. The sample size consisted of 50 mothers of autistic children who met the inclusion criteria. The population represents the entire group of caregivers on which the study findings are intended to be generalized. This paper revealed a meaningful decline in the average stress levels, from $66.77 \%$ to $55.22 \%$. These results indicate that Autogenic training is an operative method for dipping stress among mothers of autistic children. The researcher determines that this intercession is a suitable approach for alleviating stress in this caregiving population.
