Tri-Mode Dipole Antenna for Enhanced Bandwidth

This paper introduces a tri-mode dipole antenna designed for enhanced bandwidth. Through the strategic placement of stub and capacitive loadings, first order mode frequency is increased and fifth order mode frequency is decreased towards the third order mode frequency. The synergy of these modes contributes to the overall enhancement of the antenna's bandwidth. The proposed antenna operates within the frequency range of 1.2 GHz to 3.8 GHz, representing an impressive bandwidth of approximately 104%. Moreover, the antenna offers a peak gain of approximately 3.5 dBi within a compact size of $0.58\lambda_{L}\times 0.12\lambda_{L}$, where $\lambda_{L}$, is the wavelength at the lowest frequency of operation.
