Brain Wave Response of Style Geometry in Artistic Creation in VR Environments: an Impact Study on Cognitive Function and Mental Health of Autistic Children

This study aims to explore the impact of different geometric styles on brain wave responses in autistic children during artistic creation and evaluate their potential effects on cognitive functioning and mental health. The study selected 30 autistic children aged 7 to 14 years and used a 32-channel brain wave (EEG) device to record their brain wave activity while engaging in geometric style creation (such as straight lines, rectangles, and color blocks) within a virtual reality (VR) environment. At the same time, standardized cognitive function tests and mental health scales were used to assess the cognitive and psychological status of the children before and after the experiment. The results showed significant differences in brain wave patterns caused by different geometric styles during the artistic creation process, with some geometric shapes significantly improving the attention and emotional stability of autistic children. This study provides a scientific basis for the effectiveness of artistic creation as an intervention tool for autism and suggests the introduction of personalized artistic creation activities in the education and treatment of children with autism.
