Simultaneous Multibeam Clustered Phased Arrays by Using Mixed Antenna Element Factor

A preliminary study concerning the design of a simultaneous multibeam antenna system is addressed. The exploitation of radiating elements with different radiation patterns is at the basis of the novel phased array design strategy. A trade-off between good radiative multibeam performance and low complexity is offered by adopting a subarray partitioning scheme based on Penrose tessellation.
