Generation of Millimeter-Wave 2-D Scanning Airy-Bessel Fused Beam

The paper presents a mm-wave near-field 2D scanning Airy-Bessel hybrid beam with the property of 2D non-diffraction and self-acceleration. The presented Airy-Bessel hybrid beam that combine the Airy beam and Bessel beam utilizes the linear phase in two directions to realize the near-field 2D scanning beam. In one dimension, the linear phase related to the phase constant is utilized to manipulate the curvature of the Airy beam. Then, the frequency that can control the phase constant is used to control the steering Airy-Bessel hybrid beam. In the other dimension, a multi-ports multi-layers pillbox is used to control the direction of electromagnetic wave in the parallel waveguide, which can generate a linear phase shift between different waveguides. Then, a waveguide slot array antenna is fabricated and measured to validate the beam. The measured results in the S parameter and electrical field are consistent with the simulated ones, which shows that the array antenna can generate the 2D scanning Airy-Bessel hybrid beam successfully.
